About the Kitties

Little Truffles, in action! All the rescued kitties are first tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency (FIV) viruses. Then they are treated for fleas & worms, vaccinated and spayed or neutered if they are old enough. If they have any injuries or illness these are treated as well. Once they have been through all the necessary vetting they go home with Terry.

Before the kitties move into the Kitty Lodge they spend some time in the garage, which Terry has fixed up to comfortably accommodate the new residents. This is to make sure the new kitties are very healthy before they move in with their roommates in the Lodge, and also so Terry can find any particular needs that each kitty might have. In the garage, she also has a special room for any kitties that need to heal from an illness or injury.100_3120

During thisSugarBear time, the kitties are introduced to Terry’s 4 dogs, Cole →, Wednesday, Charlotte, and Rosie, so she can determine if the kitties will do well in a home with dogs. Terry’s dogs are very well-behaved and respectful of the kitties, and they also regularly visit the kitties in the Lodge.

Once it is determined that the kitties are ready, they move over to one of the 4 rooms in the Kitty Lodge. Some of the kitties in the Lodge are still working on being socialized a little more, but all the kitties that are residing there are waiting to be adopted. They have very comfortable accommodations and they all get a lot of attention because Terry spends many hours each day with them. She keeps their rooms very clean, and scoops their litter boxes often, and the kitties dine on top quality dried & canned foods, and always have plenty of fresh water.

All of the kitties keep themselves  very clean, and use the litter box faithfully!
